India Overview

Advent Christian Conference of India

  • 80 churches and preaching stations in Tamil Nadu State – in and around Chennai
  • Approximately 25,000 members in those churches
  • 6 Primary Schools, 7 Middle Schools and 3 High Schools, affiliated to the Indian education system, providing free education for children from poorer homes in and around Chennai
  • Hostels for orphans/underprivileged children at Guindy and Velachery – 250 children
  • 3 small outreach stations in Andhra Pradesh State (South India)
  • 13 churches and preaching stations in Bihar State (North India)
  • A total of 130 Pastors and Bible Women serving in South India, and 13 Pastors and 10 school teachers serving in Bihar
  • The outreach in Bihar is based on the link to the community provided by the St Xavier’s Primary/Middle school purchased by the Conference some years ago – the present student numbers are in excess of 450

Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches

  • 29 churches/preaching stations in Tamil Nadu State – in and around Chennai and in the southern part of the State
  • Approximately 5,000 members in those churches
  • 23 Pastors and 1 Bible Woman serving in Tamil Nadu

AC World Outreach

ACWO also partners with the following ministries in India:

  • ADDRES Center (Alcohol; Drug; De-addiction; Rehabilitation; Educational; Service Center)

    • A crisis intervention service center in Chennai for street injecting drug users and alcoholics and those infected with HIV/AIDS.

  • Christ Special High School for the Handicapped

    • A fully residential school for children with disabilities at Neelamangalam, Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu.

  • Abishekh Karunya (Mercy Anointing) Gypsy Primary School

    • A Christian primary school for children from the Gypsy community at Sankarapuram, Tamil Nadu.

  • Peace Children Care Home

    • A Christian hostel/home for HIV/AIDS affected, abandoned children who have lost their father or mother, or both, to HIV/AIDS, located at Dharmapuri, near Salem in Tamil Nadu.

  • Shelter Trust

    • A Christian hostel/home for HIV/AIDS infected children and adults at Thanikachalam Nagar, Chennai.
