About
Grant Aldridge
(Updated October 2009)
In April 2009 Grant returned home to New Zealand from the Philippine AC mission field.
Grant served in the Philippines from 2002 to 2009. Previous to this Grant served as a board member of ACMissioNZ for many years. Between 1990 and 2003 he attended or lead seven ACMissioNZ Work Teams – five of those to the Philippines and two to India.
Aside from his official role as Business Manager for the AC Mission in the Philippines Grant has invested in people’s lives – much of that quietly and behind the scenes. Being a school teacher by vocation Grant has taken a keen interest in the educational development of the Oro Bible College students. He has mentored many young men and assisted them in understanding what their lessons require. (All their lessons are in English and require their output to be in English also). Grant has spent many evenings and hours in the OBC library, making himself available to assist the students.
He has great musical ability and has even undertaken the production of Christmas musicals at OBC. He is a confident preacher and has spoken at many of the AC churches in the Philippines by invitation. More recently he has served as Boy’s Dorm Supervisor at OBC and has had the opportunity to be a friend and mentor to many of the students.
Grant’s favourite ‘mission’ verse is 1 Peter 4:10-11 (New International Version)
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Grant has faithfully lived these verses out in his ministry and service in the Philippines.
After settling back in at home in New Zealand Grant has taken up chairmanship of ACMissioNZ Trust Board. He retains a keen interest in what is happening in the Philippine Advent Christian field, and reports back news from the pastors, students and friends he maintains contact with.
