THAILAND | CHRISTIAN MISSION NARATCHAKWAI | Ploy and Parn graduate!

After five years of study at the Nakhon Phanom University, Ploy and Parn, members of the team of young ladies who serve the Lord so well in leadership roles at Christian Mission, have graduated, with very high GPAs, with Bachelor of Education in English degrees. Our congratulations to them both.

During these years, Ploy and Parn have also served their Lord as members of the young ladies’ leadership group at Christian Mission Naratchakwai, and as senior members of that group have accepted a great deal of responsibility for the planning and implementation of the ministries and services of the Mission and also of nurturing the younger members of the group to be ready to accept leadership responsibility in the future. This group of young ladies carries out duties at the Mission that are usually carried out by adult members of our churches.

During the five years that Ploy and Parn have studied at Nakhon Phanom University, ACMissioNZ, along with the International Missions Department of ACGC in the United States, have assisted them from time to time with the payment of their tuition fees for each semester, and I, Ernie Schache, have also been pleased to act as an on-line English tutor from time to time! They also visited New Zealand, for eight weeks in June and July 2018, and benefitted from that time of virtual total immersion in the English language.

Below are copies of letters of appreciation recently received from Ploy and Parn.

They have one more major hurdle to jump! They have qualified as teachers but now need to pass a set of exams to make them eligible to become members of the Thai civil service. Until they pass those exams they cannot apply for teaching jobs in Thai schools. They tell us that the examinations are very difficult and that many times more people apply to sit the exams than are accepted each year. Sadly, some of the places are taken by those able and willing to pay for them. The examinations have already been postponed because of Covid-19, and at present are set down for August.

Will you please pray, beginning now, that Ploy and Parn will be successful in these exams – I will let you know when firm dates are finally known.
