Advent Christian General Conference’s International Missions Department recently published the following article in their weekly E-News…
INDIA – During the first week of September, Rev. S.D. David, president of the Advent Christian Conference of India (ACCI), was arrested on charges related to the illegal sale of church property. First Information Reports had been filed against the president, secretary and treasurer for some time prior to the arrest of the president. The ACCI’s Executive Committee has since suspended the president, secretary and treasurer from their leadership positions. However, the police investigation is still ongoing.
The ACCI includes close to 100 churches and outreaches, most of which are doing excellent gospel ministry. The ACCI is independent of and legally separate from our missionary arm in India known as Yesuway Jeevan Mission / American Advent Mission. This arrest and investigation is not expected to have any direct impact on our mission work. We do not provide funding support for the operations of the ACCI or its leadership. We do however, directly support some of the mission works that are outgrowths of the ACCI. These include the Adda Road Outreach, Balu Nayak Banjara Tribal Ministries, the mission team in Bihar State, and the Grace Helen Schache Memorial Silver Fern Hostel. These ministries work among many unreached people groups.
Please pray for the ACCI and its new temporary officers, for God’s good and perfect will to be done, and that true gospel ministry will not be hindered by this situation. Pray too for our missionary Immanuel, as he represents us in India. Pray for the Lord to give Immanuel great wisdom.”
In this last week’s International Missions Prayer Network, they sought prayer as follows…
“India (Advent Christian Conference of India) – Please pray for the Lord to put into conference leadership those who are godly, wise and kingdom-oriented. And pray for protection from those who would seek to oppose such leadership.”
This situation could have serious, long-lasting effects on the 140-years-old ministry of the Advent Christian Conference of India – please pray regularly for all concerned.
