Because of gifts from generous donors we were recently able to send funds to each of the four pastors who make up the leadership team of the conference, some funds designated for the support of the children they care for (total of 323 for all four organisations) and some for the support of their church planters who are taking the message of God’s love to their people, based in various parts of the country..
Pastor Kenneth, the leader of Gospel for Myanmar, advised that he had shared the funds allocated to church planters with his four church planters, and advised that the funds sent for the children’s support was used to purchase two large, overhead fans which have been installed in the boys’ and girls’ dormitories. He commented…
“This year our summer is very hot, it is between 37 – 43 degrees centigrade in the day time. We do very much appreciate your love and care for us.”
Gospel for Myanmar also has a Bible college, named Salem Theological School, which is about to re-open in June after the summer vacation, where students from various parts of the country come to equip themselves for service for the Lord. This is based at the rented property in Insein, Yangon which is also home for Kenneth and his family and the orphan children who he and his wife Eunice care for. Their children’s clothing factory which raises funds for their ministries is also based there, and the congregation’s meetings and services are also held there.
Pastor Kenneth is keen to build a small, new dormitory building, primarily to house the young ladies who will be attending the Salem Theological School this year and in the coming years. He explained that if there was sufficient room in the new dwelling, some of the ladies and girls who work in their clothing factory would also be able to stay there.
The building will be 16 feet (4.87 metres) by 16 feet, and the frame will be constructed of hollow rectangular steel section, with zinc roof and wooden floor and walls.
The total cost of this building will be 3,177,000 Myanmar Kyats which is approximately NZ$3,650 – Pastor Kenneth asks that we pray with him and his people that the Lord will provide for this need.
As you pray for this need, please also pray for the young people who the Lord will lead to attend the Salem Theological School from June to the end of January 2021.
