Greetings to our friends, supporters and prayer partners, and welcome to this first update for 2019. I missed producing an update in December as early in the month I attended meetings held in Bangkok with Advent Christian General Conference representatives from Charlotte and Mission Manager Immanuel from India, and then we went north to meet with the folk at Christian Mission Naratchakwai for two days and I was not able to get one produced and out in time. The first item in the India section of this issue is therefore late getting to you, but I particularly wanted you to see it and be reminded of the wonderful job that Pastor Paul Sunder Raj and his team are doing in Khagaria in Bihar State in India, and how the Lord is blessing their ministries and is using folk and churches “at home” in Chennai to contribute. The second India item is also an indication of how God is using one of Yesuway Jeevan Mission’s ministry partners to bring the Good News of LIFE in Jesus Christ to folk in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
Please pray for these two ministries and thank Him for the fruit for their labour that our co-workers in the Lord are seeing.

Pastor Denny Moses reported in December on behalf of the team at Khagaria, in Bihar, as follows…
“Annual Convention Report
Greetings to you in the everlasting name of Jesus Christ who was, who is, who is to come. We are glad to share the past events which were held in our Bihar ministry fields. We thank our Almighty God, for your valuable prayers and support and concern for our ministry.
In the month of September, our wonderful Lord has done a marvelous thing in our Advent Christian Church Mansi (Branch Church) field. It is 7 kms away from Khagaria. As we prayed to buy church land for that field, our Savior generously blessed the church to get appropriate land, absolutely free of cost. This is not by our strength nor by our prayers and honor but purely and only through the everlasting Grace of Our God.
We praise our Savior, for he raised the Advent Christian Church at Perungudi, Chennai. They have donated land for a church at the Mansi field and also earnestly paid the land registration amount for the glory of our Father in heaven. The Perungudi church have also assured that they will build a church in the field by their own financial support. We praise God for such a burden the Perungudi church has. God is so good.
In the month of October we had our Annual Prayer Camp in two places (Balabazar and Rampur). Through these conventions 28 persons were baptised, 5 Bible Men were dedicated, 1 Church board member was dedicated, 2 pastors for the new field ministries were dedicated, 11 children were dedicated, and 59 tailoring school certificates were distributed.
The Holy Spirit guided us to conduct these conventions in a proper manner. Although the meetings were held during the important local Hindu festival Durga Pooja time, the heavenly army of our Almighty God completely protected all believers, pastors, missionaries, teachers, guests and all the attenders. We glorify His matchless name.
Our Advent Christian Conference’s Bishop Rt. Rev. S. D. David, Mission General secretary Mr. Panneer Doss, Ex. General Secretary. Mr. Sathya Muller, Missions Outreach Director Rev. J Gnana Prasath, Secretary Mr. Ravindra Babu, executive members Mr. Jeba Singh and Paul Dinakaran, Rev. Manohar (Ratanamagalm Area Chairman) Pr. Greece Peter (Bihar) and Pas. Joshua (Bihar) all attended the meeting to glorify Lord’s name by sharing the Word of God, to give witness, to conduct worship, to conduct healing prayer and to baptize the people.
In month of November 8 & 9th we had special revival meeting for the Pastors, Evangelist, Bible Men, Bible Women and church Committees. Following that 10th 11th we had special healing meetings for the Allouli and Khagaria Church believers.
By the grace of God these four days revival meetings were blessed abundantly. The Holy Spirit filled all the days by His anointing. The word of God brought revival among the attenders as the Word of God was shared by Evangelist Haggi Shakar, Pastor M.J Matthews & Mrs. Surya Matthews. We had so many wonderful testimonies from those who experienced the spiritual revival. The new believers’ bondages of Satan were broken and they are healed. Around 400 people attended these meetings.
To God be the glory!
Following these revival meetings, we had a Gospel team arrive in our field at Khagaria from 17/11/18 to 22/11/18. Every year, this team is eager to travel this far (2500KMS) from Chennai to sow the seeds of the Gospel through village ministry and evening film ministry.
The team head Eva. Abraham and the four members – Rev. Ezekiel, (Area Chairman Santhospuram) Pas. Lazar, Br. Mohan and Br. Issaya) ministered to God in Balabazar, Mansi, Sakal, Karvamode, Allouli, Rampur, Rajakpur and Khagaria fields. Please pray for these fields, that the Lord would raise many souls to establish His churches soon.
- We have bought church land in Allouli and Mansi fields and land for a church was donated by a believer, Mr. Raman, for Rajakpur church. Kindly pray for these 3 fields, soon we need to complete the construction of these 3 churches
- Please pray for our all the fields’ programs especially the jail ministry. Through this we usually visit the Jailer to seek his permission, then we meet the prisoners to share the Gospel and to show the Jesus film. May the Lord do marvelous deeds through His grace this year too. Amen.”

Eva. Abraham Iya & Team Sharing the gospel in villages, among the uneducated people.
January was a busy month for Pastor Paul Gantham and his son Pastor Victor Abraham and their congregations. These brothers, and their wives, minister at the Adda Road Advent Christian Church in the State of Andhra Pradesh – one of Yesuway Jeevan Mission’s ministry partners. Their main church is at Adda Road (pictured) and has 212 members, and they have outreaches at Bala Ventakapuram (renamed Calvary Healing Mountain by Pastor Victor Abraham ) with 360 attending regularly; at Nallclapalli with 32 members; at Markonpapuram with 22 members; at B C Colony with 25 members; at Lademarupuram with 26 members; at Narapareddypuram with 35 members and at Botikiripadu with 45 members. Most of the members of all their churches are very poor farmers or labourers and all are from remote, village areas. Adda Road itself is in a remote area, at the junction of two major roads – the village is actually named Ustumvaripalli Village but thankfully is commonly referred to as Adda Road!
From the above information you will understand that every month is a busy month for these two Christian brothers and those from their congregation who assist them in their service for the Lord. Pastor Victor Abraham has sent information and pictures about a particular event with which they were involved during January.
On Sunday 13 January there was a baptismal service at the church at Adda Road – a wonderful baptismal service! One hundred and twelve (112) members from the Adda Road Church and the Calvary healing Mountain outreach were baptized! 44 men and 68 ladies; 70 people from Adda Road and 42 from the Calvary Healing Mountain outreach.
Please rejoice with Pastors Paul Gandham and Victor Abraham, as they had the joy of seeing this wonderful and plentiful “fruit for their labour” and add your joy to that in heaven (Luke 15:7) for these new members of the Christian family and pray that they will grow in the grace and the knowledge of their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I have been asking you to pray for the sale of the Guindy land for months and months, even years – thank you for continuing to pray. Please continue to pray regularly as we slowly – very slowly at times – take one step at a time towards the completion of the sale. There is still one court case – brought by a senior member of the Advent Christian Conference of India – that is holding up what will be a very major and critical step in concluding the sale, and the wheels of the justice system in India most often turn very slowly. Once this case is determined we will publicly call for bids for the property, and we presently have two parties who are very keen to buy the property.
The proceeds of the sale will bring the possibility of future, financial stability of the Advent Christian Conference of India, and the significant extension of the ministries of Yesuway Jeevan Mission and its ministry partners throughout India.
THAILAND |Christian Mission Naratchakwai
In December Jeff Walsh (International Missions Director) and Steve Lawson (Executive Director) from ACGC and Immanuel (National Missionary/Mission Manager) from India and I flew from Bangkok to Nakhon Phanom on a Friday afternoon and spent a very pleasant weekend with the folks at Christian Mission Naratchakwai, leaving to return to Bangkok and our flights home on the Sunday evening.
It was great to spend time with the leaders and the members of the congregation again and to worship with them on the Sunday morning. Jeff and Steve were able to share with them about Christmas, and there was a multinational choir present to bring the congregation a Christmas carol!! It’s probably just as well that I can’t put the sound up here!! We also enjoyed fellowship as we joined them in the lovely meal that they have together after every Sunday service.
One of the highlights of the time was time spent on the Sunday afternoon, when we joined with a group of children and young people during their English classes which the older girls teach every Sunday afternoon. The teaching of English to children has always been one of CMN’s bridges into the community with the Gospel. Those that are now doing the teaching started attending the Mission to learn English and are now studying it at university. We had a lot of fun and laughter with them and found that it wasn’t too easy to beat them at Hangman in English!!
Prayer and Praise items:
Pray for Maeo’s health. As well as ongoing problems with her knees, which need replacements, she has had two recent episodes when one of her legs has swollen badly/hugely! She is quite concerned and has seen her doctor and is having treatment.
Thank the Lord that Lita Chris had successful surgery on 5 January for the removal of her thyroid because of a goitre and has recovered well. She has a further appointment with the surgeon on 24 April – please pray that her recovery may continue and that she will get final clearance at that appointment.
Pray for the six girls/young ladies who make up the Leadership Team and for Ploy who leads the team. Thank the Lord for the time and effort they put into planning and supervising every aspect of the ministry.
MALAYSIA | Kluang Advent Christian Group
Please continue to pray for Sister Ruth, Brother Wilfred and their small group of faithful, Advent Christian believers who gather weekly on Sundays for worship in Ruth and Wilfred’s home in Kluang and in members’ homes for Bible study and communion during the week. Christian ministry is not easy or without danger in Malaysia, but Ruth and Wilfred faithfully continue their one-on-one ministries of friendship, practical assistance and counsel to friends, neighbours and other contacts.
Sister Ruth recently wrote about their ministry…
“One of our outstation contacts had a cardiac arrest. He requested prayer. We thank the Lord for his supernatural intervention upon this man. He recovered in two weeks. He is able to walk and talk. He came to visit us with his family and we had good fellowship with them.
A lady is seeing God’s favor upon her life in extraordinary ways. She says God’s grace brought this blessing upon her. She appreciates our prayers and our sharing Jesus with her.
Another lady called us to say that all our prayers have brought the peace of God into her home.
God has opened the spiritual eyes of another family to discern the evil strategies that have been used against their family. They are now taking hold of God’s Word and seeing victory in their circumstances.”
MYANMAR | Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar
Pastor Timothy, leader of the Advent Christian Church of Myanmar and one of the four key leaders of the Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar, wrote as follows earlier this year…
“God blessed us wonderfully in Christmas and New Year season. Many non-Christians knew about
Jesus Christ and all of Myanmar leaders also celebrated Christmas at *Vice President Van Thio’s house.
My birth also celebrated with some pastors and Church leaders at my house. My wife Hoi cooked a special lunch for us.
We are praying to do two big things in 2019 –
- To build Church building
- To build Christian school building (basic primary school).
I have promises from some friends for these projects.”
Please pray that the Lord will provide for these two projects as Pastor Timothy seeks to share the Christian message with his community.
*Henry Van Thio is a Christian, of Chin ethnicity (the Chin State is 90% Christian) and is the first Christian to attain the position of Vice President in the history of the country. Please pray for this brother, that his position and influence will result in less pressure on the Christian population of Myanmar and its ministries.
Pictures: Left – Christmas celebration at Vice President H. Van Thio’s home. Centre – Christmas celebration of Timothy and Hoi Van’s large family of orphans and underprivileged children. Right – Timothy’s birthday celebrations.
Pastor Timothy also advised that one of the four theological students that their home church supports will graduate with a B Th degree this month and asks us to pray for all four students as they seek to train to serve the Lord. These young people were all orphan or underprivileged children who Timothy and Hoi Van have raised as their own family.
The student who will graduate is Ma Hte Hte at left in blue in the picture.
Please pray for them all as they look to the Lord to guide them in the future as they seek to minister for Him and share the Gospel with their people.
He also asks us to pray for his wife Hoi Van, who following a health check-up recently is taking medication for a lung problem and has to return for a further check-up after one month.
Once again, my sincere thanks for your partnership in the Lord’s ministries in South East Asia. Thank you for your prayers for and encouragement to and financial support for our brothers and sisters in the LORD in South East Asia who are so committed to sharing the message of LIFE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST with their people. Your support means a great deal to them.
Please pray that they will all know the leading, guiding and blessing of the Holy Spirit on all their ministries and that they will have great joy in their service for the LORD as they see fruit for their labour.
