Mission Manager Immanuel has reported that on 15 December he and other members of the Mission staff visited the Silver Fern Hostel for orphan and underprivileged boys which is situated next door to the Mission compound at Guindy.
Four of the boys were absent, but the other sixteen boys were treated to a special meal of one of their favourite foods – briyani, and each of them was given a new set of clothes as a Christmas present from the Mission and from the members of the Advent Christian churches in the United States through the annual Christmas in October project which is organised by the ladies of the Women’s Home and Foreign Mission Society. Those who were absent will receive their gifts when classes resume at the school after the Christmas/New Year break.
Please thank the Lord for this opportunity to encourage these boys and thank Him for the efforts of the folk in the United States which provided the funds for the meal and the gifts.
Please also pray for the Warden of the Hostel, Nelson (pictured right) and for his family, as they care so well for the boys under what are often very difficult conditions.
