MYANMAR | Bringing Glory to God in Myanmar

April 24, 2018 Filed Under: Pastor David's News

Pastor David, President of the Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar and leader of the Fellowship Bible Church of Myanmar, recently wrote to Rev Jeff Walsh at ACGC Charlotte …

“Dear brother, greetings in the name of Jesus and happy to report our baptisms. Twenty-one people received Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Now they have become believers and they need Bibles for their lives. Thanks for your prayer and consideration.”

Rev. Walsh wrote in ACGC’s E-News as he shared this report…

“Praise God! Our Lord now has 21 newly redeemed worshipers to glorify his name!

Pastor David is one of four key Advent Christian ministry leaders in Myanmar, each having his own ministry organization and group of churches. The four leaders and organizations share fellowship in the Lord Jesus Christ and a relationship with Advent Christian General Conference through the Department of International Missions. Each year, they appoint one of the leaders as president. The president is responsible for taking the lead in communicating with us at ACGC and overseeing matters that pertain to the relationship of the four groups. Pastor David is the president this year.

I have personally witnessed the zeal and commitment of these leaders, pastors, church planters and students. To call them inspiring is an understatement! They are filled with the joy of knowing the King of Kings and the desire to share this greatest of blessings with the many family members, friends and people of the community who do not know the gospel.

The zeal of these servants of the Lord is displayed in the many forms of ministry God has given them. All four leaders oversee growing networks of churches. All four train and commission church planters. All four care for large groups of orphans and disadvantaged children. Three have formal Bible colleges, and one has a school program for community children.

One way we at ACGC work with our brothers and sisters in Myanmar is by helping to address the need Pastor David mentioned in his message: “they need Bibles for their lives.” In addition to our Penny Crusade funds, which go largely for salaries and support for our missionaries and staff, we also have a Bible/Library Fund. This fund is used to help supply pastors and leaders with the Word of God in their own languages. God is glorified in the fact that his Word is available in the beautiful Burmese language. He is further glorified as we partner to put his Word in the hands and hearts of his servants in Myanmar.”

Please pray regularly for the ministry of the members of the Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar and their efforts to take the Gospel to unreached parts of their country.

Please also pray for their ministry to orphan and underprivileged children – between them, the four organisations care for a total of 294 such children.

Brother David recently wrote…

“Greetings in the name of Jesus from ACCM, Myanmar. On 20th of May 2018 our schools will be reopening and all of ACCM leaders’ children’s home children will need school supplies. The children need school uniforms, umbrellas, shoes, school bags, writing pens, books and other items for school supply.

Thank you so much for remembering us in prayer. Thank you and God bless you.”

Please pray with them that the Lord will provide for this need.
