On 25 January we advised you of serious flooding at Oro Bible College following very heavy rainfall. (Click here for link to the earlier item). Gifts from generous supporters enabled us (ACMissioNZ) to send NZ$1,600 to them to a cover the costs for medical checks for the students who had assisted with the clean-up and to assist them to replace damaged equipment and structure.
College Director Sister Nely Gamayon wrote as follows following receipt of the funds…
“We (OBC) have received the amount you sent through Western Union. Thank you very much, and thank you also to the brethren in New Zealand, members of the AC Missions, and all the churches that have contributed to this amount to assist us in our recent calamity due to flooding. We are thankful for your swift reply to our cry for help and for your thoughtfulness to us.
I will be rewarding the students who worked so hard to help us save most of our things in the college and for the backbreaking and tedious clean-up. Staff in-charge will also bring those students and faculty for check-up at the nearby hospital. These students and faculty have really risked the rain and flood in trying the best that they could to help OBC and some members of Maranatha Bible Church during the flooding.I will send pictures soon of the activity and the items that needed replacement, those that can be covered by the amount we received and are also most needed.
Again, thank you very much. God bless you.
Sincerely,
Sister Nely
