Rejoice with Pastor Regi Christopher and the members of the Teynampet Church in Chennai, India.
Last month they had the joy of welcoming 7 newly baptised young people into membership of their fellowship of believers.
Teynampet is an inner city suburb of Chennai and the church is situated in the centre of a slum area. The church currently has 90 families or about 200 people in membership and because the building cannot accommodate all the members at one time and there is no room to expand the building, they have two services every Sunday morning and the congregation continues to grow. The baptismal tank is at the front steps of the building, which opens directly onto the road – the baptisms were therefore very public indications of the faith of the candidates in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
With the exception of one of the young men all of the candidates (pictured above with Rev Regi Christopher and his wife Grace, 4th and 5th from the left) are from Hindu backgrounds. Please pray that the testimonies of these young people will influence their families and friends for the Lord.
