MYANMAR | Ministry to orphans or underprivileged children

June 23, 2016 Filed Under: Newsletters, Newsletters | Myanmar, Pastor J's newsletter

myanmar tagThe leaders of the four organisations which make up the Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar care for a total of 271 orphans or underprivileged children – they live in the leaders’ homes or the homes of other members of their organisations in other parts of the city and country. David’s organisation cares for 96, Joseph’s cares for 79, Timothy’s cares for 56 and Kenneth’s cares for 40.

Following the recent receipt of some funds to assist with the back-to school costs for the children, Pastor Joseph sent the following information which represents the reasons why all four of the ACCM leaders see this particular part of their ministry as extremely important.
(Ernie Schache)

“Greeting from Joseph in the Holy Name! By your support unreached children are alive in Jesus.

Orphanage ministries
This orphanage home is opened mainly for orphans. This is a place where the hopeless orphans find hope, parentless children find parents and family care, and illiterate orphans will become literate and educated.
1. Purpose
To share with the children the answer to the eternal need of the Lord Jesus Christ, for the building up of the Body of Christ. To reduce poverty, illiteracy and instability.
2. Vision
To uplift the children in the realms of their education and social, spiritual and physical lives.
To help them reach their destinies. To give them some practical training to support themselves in the future .
3. Why they are coming to The Word Mission?
Because…
a. Parents died
b. Divorced parents
c. Poverty
d. Educational needs
e. Their parents’ inability to work due to physical infirmities
f. Imprisoned Parents
g.Their parents have abandoned them
h. Illiteracy
i. Social life of the community
4. What is The Word Mission doing for their future?
a. We care for their needs
b. We support them for their education
c. We try to help them reach their destiny in some ways.
d. We give them some practical training to support themselves in the future.

Our work is teaching the children about the salvation of Jesus and the Bible; helping to feed and clothe them, along with assisting the child with school and anything that they need including medical needs. This gives the child an opportunity to be introduced to a local Bible preaching church where they can also grow spiritually in Christ.

Please pray for them.
Thank you
Joseph”
