Because of the generosity of a Kiwi donor, we were recently able to send the leaders of the Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar some funds to assist with getting the 271 orphan and underprivileged children they care for back to school after their summer holidays and some funds to support several of their church planters/missionaries to other parts of their country.
Conference President Pastor Timothy wrote…
“We received your gift for children and Church planters yesterday and divided according to your advice. Thank you to you and all donors. My family is busy for children admission and Church members now.
On Sat 21 May 2016 while I was in Chin State, the storm destroyed two church members’ houses, they are very poor families converted from Buddhism few years ago. So we are trying rebuilding work. We finished one house and doing another one house at my farm today.”
Pastor David wrote…
“Thanks for your sent gift for our children ministry. This is our school supply for children home.
Thank you.”
Pastor Joseph advised that just prior to his children returning to school they had spent three days fasting and praying and studying the Bible. He wrote…
“We have got the fund that you send to us. Thanks for your support for our church planters and children.
Three days learning the Word of God and three days fasting praying – pictures of our children.
Thank you for your care and support for unreached children of Myanmar.
Children are praying before they go to school. May God bless you.”
Pastor Kenneth wrote…
“Thank you very much for the wonderful gift which you send us for our children and workers. We do really praise God for His wonderful and great gift through the donors of AC in New Zealand. And also we like to say thank you to all the donors who love the Lord and have a heart for the lost souls in Myanmar.
ACCM Missions work here in Myanmar also going well as you pray for us. I attach the picture of Pastor Hla Thaung and his family whom you support. This is one of the places where there is no water in summer. We are now praying for water well.
In our family, there are 16 children who are living with us. Next time I will try to send you all the pictures. Again I would like to say thank you for your love, your prayer and support for the need of the missions work here in Myanmar. May the Lord continue to bless you.”
Pastor Hla Thaung’s mission field is Okshitgone village in the Yangon Division, about 2 hours bus ride from Yangon City.
His wife’s name is Za Za Oo and they have two boys – Daniel, born November 2010 (5 years old) and Za Nie (nearly one year old)
They have been ministering since 2008 and are ministering in a village where all the villagers are very strong in their Buddhism. They have 37 believers in their group which meets in their home, all of whom are from Buddhist backgrounds.
