We continue to receive updates and many terribly disturbing pictures (a few below) about the situation in Myanmar.
Pastor Timothy advised as follows earlier this week…
“The storm and flood affected 11 States and Divisions. But the President’s office declared disaster places (Chin State, Rakhine State, Sagaing Division and Magway Division). All are our mission fields. I am sending you some flood pictures in Hakha City – the people see rainbow and they are very happy, they praise God (see in picture).
But Rung Mountain has had a severe landslide. Hakha is under Rung Mountain so the Government advised them that 2/3 area need to move to other safe places. New Hakha is one safe place so now in New Hakha there are more than 7,000 people taking refuge. In New Hakha my Church is very small number but they are very busy in relief work. By the grace of God only one of church member’s house has collapsed. They are 5 members.
Please pray for Hakha City and Chin State.”
Pastor Timothy wrote on Thursday, following receipt of funds send for relief……
“Thank you very much for your prayer and gift for our people who are suffering. I also passed your gift to Chin State and Sagaing Division for food immediately. I have strong faith your love and support will help their spiritual and physical needs. Picture is suffering people [taking] refuge in one place in New Hakha.”(picture below)
Pastor Kenneth has advised …
“Now the flood is very worst. Two of our mission fields – Pastor Hla Thaung and Pastor Mawi’s place are fill with water.”
But he goes on to express his appreciation for the relief funds which have been sent to them from the United States and New Zealand….
“I praise God and thankful to all the donors in ACGC and in New Zealand. Our unity in Christ makes us for stronger faith. I do very much appreciate for your Love and concern for us. Our God is the God who is close [to] us when we are in difficulty. God shows us His presence among us through you and your actions.”
Pastor Joseph has just returned to Yangon from an outreach trip to the Rakhine State and he was able to bring back pictures of the situation there. He wrote…
“Please pray for our brothers and sisters from Rakhine State. I was five days in Rakhine State to see our church members. They need our prayer. I gave them 10 bags rice and some clothes and 200, 000 kyats.”
Pastor Joseph also advised that their own compound on the outskirts of Yangon was again flooded – see below.
Pastor David wrote…
“Brother, continue praying for our country. Till now heavy rain and water flood. Thanks.”
