Pastor David, one of the leaders of the Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar, has several times during my visits mentioned the name of 19th century American missionary Adoniram Judson as one whose example he seeks to follow. David and his wife named one of their sons Judson. Pastor David recently sent the following report and pictures about his visit to the town in which Adoniram Judson was based when he served the Lord in Burma.

“Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ from Yangon, Myanmar.
I am happy to report about ministry [matters] which God raise in my heart in this year. I was praying many times to visit to Mawlamine township where respected missionary Judson started a church there.
God allowed me to visit there and I visited to the church Adoniram Judson started in Mawlamine township. It is great blessing and renewed in my heart the sacrifices first missionary Judson faced – problems and difficulties. He was put many times in prison. He lost his son [and] wife and working hard for translate Bible to Myanmar language.
God remind me in my heart how to work hard and sacrifice our time, energy and life for the kingdom of God.
Adoniram Judson: One of the first misionary sent out by USA was Adoniram Judson (1788-1850.)
In 1812, he and his wife Anne having been denied entrance to India, went to Myanmar .Within the first 14 years Judson was in and out of prison and tortured. Several times he came close to death, and his wife and all of children died. But God was faithful to him, giving him grace to translate the Bible to the Burmese language. Some have estimated that in addition to his translation work, he led 7,000 people to Christ.
It is great challenge to us in our ministry how to win the lost soul to Christ’s kingdom. Adoniram Judson is inspiration in my life and ministry. He is one of good example missionaries in Myanmar.
Please continue remember in your prayer for our ministry to fulfil the great commission of Jesus Christ here in Myanmar, the unfinished work of Judson and missionaries.
Thanks and God bless you.
In Him,
David”
