On 2 February Mission Manager Immanuel attended a Business Committee meeting of the thirteen FBHC pastors who now make up the “loyal” group of pastors. There are still ten pastors who continue to cause problems and difficulties for both the Fellowship and the Mission. During recent months two further pastors have recognised the futility of the actions of the rebel group and have detached themselves from that group and have sought membership of the loyal group bringing the total to thirteen.
Immanuel reports that there was a very good level of agreement and unity within the group and resolutions in regard to the following matters were passed unanimously.
- To take rapid steps to renew the registration of the FBHC with the Government Registrar of Incorporated Societies.
- To continue to keep all the FBHC land ownership documents in the safe custody of the Mission.
To take necessary action to correct the situations at Madipakkam, Mannivakkam, Kodaikanal and Periyakulam where pastors aligned with the “rebel” group continue to cause difficulties. - To take steps to strengthen the unity among FBHC pastors as there are increasing problems for Christians and Christian churches ahead because of government policies.
- To collect funds from FBHC churches and donate one or two bicycles to Advent Christian Pastors in Africa.
Following the meeting, the group enjoyed a meal together, provided by the Mission.
Please pray regularly for this group of pastors and a Bible Woman (pictured below)and their ministries and congregations, and pray especially for the Pastors who hold positions of responsibility in the Fellowship: Rev A. Jerald – Treasurer (second from left, front row), Rev T. Regi Christopher – President (third from left, front row) and Rev. A. Stanley Foljer – Secretary (right, front row).
