ACMissioNZ was recently able to send some funds to Christian Mission Naratchakwai designated for taking their “Soup of Love”, which they regularly distributeto the elderly and poor and sick folk in their village and neighbouring villages, to a Senior Citizens’ Home to which they have recently ministered.
As usual CMN went an “extra mile” during the recent visit to the home – Brother John Middlewood reported as follows about their latest visit…
“Thank you New Zealand for the donation to provide Soup of Love to over 80 people at the Nakhon Phanom provincial Senior Citizens home.
Christian Mission combined with Cheng Yuen High School to give the seniors a hot meal and about 2 1/2 hours of entertainment with a Thai Band and Thai classical dancing. Thank God, there is still enough money to go back a second time, so plans are in progress now to make another trip back with the High School group.
The senior center is located about 20 km from the Christian Mission and is the only one in our province. They currently have about 80 people in residence. Combining with the high school made it even more rewarding and gave the band and dancers a chance to practice live. This group has been performing in competition for several years and is becoming well known. They will be performing at the mission for our Mother’s Day celebration in August.
Pray for the kids because even though they are in a Catholic area, most are strongly Buddhist. I am trying to get our girls to interact with them and be able to witness to them.
Thanks and God bless all that took part in making this possible.
God Bless.
John, Maeo, Bee, Lita, Parn and Ploy.”
