INDIA – Vacation Bible Schools reports

June 14, 2014 Filed Under: Indian News, Newletters | India, Newsletters

Once again this year Yesuway Jeevan Mission has funded the purchase of lesson material for Vacation Bible School ministries during the Indian annual summer holiday break, in the churches of the Advent Christian Conference of India and the Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches.

In total many thousands of children, many of them from Hindu homes, have attended programs, usually for five or six days, organised by the churches. The programs usually include the provision of meals for those attending, games, skits, craft work and of course lessons from the Scriptures and Christian songs. Prizes are usually awarded at the final gathering, to which parents are usually invited. As well as the teachers who take the lessons, many other church members assist with the other activities and arrangements and preparation of meals.

Please thank the Lord for the folk who have given a week of their summer holidays to make the VBS programs successful. Please also pray that in the power of the Holy Spirit the seeds of faith which may have been sown in the lives of the children and young people who attended will grow and develop to bring faith and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
At the Teynampet FBHC church, pastored by FBHC President Rev Regi Christopher, their VBS was held in the first week of May. 160 children attended and the Bible lessons were on the topic of “Good Warrior”. 12 teachers and 7 volunteers made up their team for the year.
Food was provided and prizes were distributed

At the Chrompet FBHC church, pastored by Rev Stanley Foljer, their VBS was held over 6 days during the last week of April. 20 children attended and classes were led by 3 teachers.
They conducted different programs and activities and lunches and prizes were provided.
