As is the case in a number of other countries in Asia, the Buddhist New Year is celebrated in Myanmar with a “water festival”. In Myanmar it is known as Thingyan Water Festival and was celebrated from 13 to 16 April. The festival is observed as the most important public holiday throughout the country and is part of the summer holidays at the end of the school year. Water-throwing or dousing one another from any shape or form of vessel or device that delivers water is the distinguishing feature of this festival.
The Christian community takes advantage of the holiday time and crowds which gather, to have special outreach meetings and camps. Pastor D recently reported about his organisation’s special activities as below.
Please pray for the 15 children who accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord and pray that they may grow in grace and the knowledge of their Lord.

“Greetings and happy to report about Thingyin Water Festival Children’s Conference.
It is great blessings for children and good to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ in their life.
They all are happy for attending one week conference. The whole year they learn their subjects in school and busy for their homework. Now they all are free and happy in their life.
They are playing sometimes, singing and memorize some Bible verses during conference.
Most of children were encouraged in their life and they share their testimony after service.
15 children are receiving Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
Thank you so much for your helping with your prayer for our ministry.”
