John’s Blog July 31st 2013

August 1, 2013 Filed Under: John's Newsletter, Newsletters, Newsletters | Thailand

tag_thailand_johnSaturday was a full day for everyone. We had an English Camp at Pa Kho Elementary School – located about 80 km from Nakhon Phanom on the edge of a village called Tharae. This village is noted for two things. It is a major place for the Catholic Church in this part of Thailand. There is a very large high school with students attending from many miles around, there is a Seminary for those who want to go into the priesthood and there is a convent for those who wish to become sisters. It is also noted for another thing we cannot talk about because it is against the law.

I have known this principal for several years from when he used to be a principal of a school in Nakhon Phanom Province. The Thai Lao Cambodia Brotherhood has helped him through 4 or 5 schools now. The English Camp is the latest. He invited a k-9th grade school to join in this camp, so we had about 40 students for our three teams. His wife, also a teacher at another school, brought their three kids and a few others, so we were a bit over but the time we got going. Then pictures will tell the story.

While this was going on, Bee, Fanta, Jane and pan were back at the church dealing with 25 elementary students getting through the morning program and then afternoon preparation for Mothers¡¦ day coming up May 11. There were no pictures of that because I was not there to take them and no one else did.

Sunday was our first “back to norma” Sunday service and we were blessed by God. With continual raining on a tin roof from about 8 am until noon, over 30 people attended the service, joined in the singing and praises, listening to Bible study and then working on practice in the afternoon for Mothers’ Day.

Today Surachai and Nipon departed about 8 am and the driver called and said they were home about 5 pm so that ends another story for the Christian Mission.
New things and new plans are in the mill to make things even better here, both for the regular believers who are steady in their prayers and support, but also for those visiting and looking for information. Please continue to pray for us as we continue to move forward.

Thank you and God Bless, John, Maeo and the girls
