Greetings again. This newsletter should have gone out July 3 so maybe I am getting caught up a bit. If my memory remembers, I am going to try and introduce you all to the various churches that make up our group now.
This will be the first one –
The church’s name is Laobada Place of Grace Church. Depending on which way you go, it is from about 30-50 km from the Christian Mission. Mr Boonta is the current pastor. He is married, had one daughter and a mother-in-law that he is taking care of. Mother-in-law has been sick for several years. His daughter is also sick so he takes care of her and his sick wife. Please pray for him and his family.
The church itself is located a kilometer or so outside the village of Laobada in the middle of the rice field. The church has no electricity and when asked why not, Mr. Boonta stated that it was quite a long run and once it was put in, the wire would not stay up very long because someone would come along and cut it down and sell the wire. The alternative would be to tap into the high-powered lines about 200 meters from the church and put in a transformer. This alternative is out of the question at the present because it would be about $3000.00.
The church currently has 10-12 members, most of whom are over 60. You see many of them in the pictures of the kitchen and cooking area.
The group you see in these pictures are the leaders from the various churches in the Association. We have been meeting once a month for several years now and have seen God’s wonders at work. The Association monthly meeting is also held after the prayer group meeting.
Prayer Points:
- Pray for the Christ for all People Church Association and the leaders. The mountain village where Mr Jarat and his wife are working has had several people accept Christ and be baptized and other people are starting to come down out of the hills and want to come back to Christ. It appears that sometime in the past many of these people had heard about Christ but no one has ministered to them in a long time.
- Pray for Mr. Boonta and his family that they will be comforted and have peace, that he will be given the strength, wisdom and love of God to continue his work.
- Mr Boonta is also involved in a ministry in Laos. Pray for the children from Laos that will be visiting the Christian Mission on July 6.
Thank you and may God Bless. John Maeo and the team
