Meet one of the young ladies from our Christian Mission Ban Naratchakwai, Nakhon Panom, Thailand:
Lita
Lita is a 14-year-old young lady, who entered eighth grade when school started in May. Her favorite subject in school is English and she wants to become an English teacher. She currently lives at the Christian Mission operated by Dr. John Middlewood, and his wife, Maeo.
Lita’s family lives in the village of Naratchakwai. Her older brother and two younger brothers live there with her mother and step-father. About two years ago her family’s house burned to the ground and the family lost verything. At that time, she moved to the Christian Mission – temporarily – until her home was re-built. The village funded the building of a small, one-room house for the family.
The temporary arrangements then became permanent for her, and Lita has been living at the Christian Mission for almost two years now. Just last year, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savious. Lita teaches English at the Mission and during Christian Mission’s Saturday English classes. She participates in the daily prayer group, music worship leader, sings with the teen group, and is helpful to assist in many more tasks at the Christian Mission when needed.
Litas father is in Laos and she has not seen him for a long time. Her mother has no citizenship and is presently – and has been for the last two or three years – trying to get a Thai citizenship. This also means that, at this time, Lita is without a country, too. As soon as her mother’s citizenship is established, Christian Mission will begin working to attain citizenship for Lita.
Following is Lita’s testimony; (translated by Dr. John)
“I’m an eighth grade student studying at Sribuaban High School. I have learned many things about Christ since moving to the Christian Mission. Jesus Christ is the only way for me to have help in my life. In the past, I have been confused about which religion is the truth. I have made up my mind that I will study the Bible to learn more about Jesus Christ. In school, my grades are good, but I am afraid I will not have enough money to continue my education. But when I pray I have learned that God answers my prayers. He has provided everything I need and has given me money for school in the past. My life has improved greatly, and now I have a very good place to live, people to help me and everything I need. I thank God for all of it.
Prayer needs:
- Pray for Bee, the youth leader at the Christian Mission, and her family.
- Pray for Lita’s family that they may come to know Christ like she does.
- Pray that the needed paperwork will be completed so that Lita may attain Thai citizenship.
- Pray that Beem 2, another student at Christian Mission, will have a hunger for learning, and God will enable her with the ability to think and learn.
- Pray for the Christian Mission students who have accepted Christ that they will have strength and courage when they are persecuted for their faith and enable them to stand strong in the Lord.
