Greetings from Thailand. Bible Camp for summer break of 2013 is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks and praise God for the 50 people who participated in the camp. Thanks and praise God for another first. We had 4 young ladies representing 3 churches in Lao attend our Bible Camp. They teach the youth in their respective churches.
Things got started about 10:00 am on Wednesday with the opening and beginning activities. It was organized, managed, directed and conducted by the youth leaders from 4 of our churches. They had recently completed a training program in Khon Kaen and this was their opportunity to put their training into practice. Our Bee was the major organizer and leader. She had assistance from the teen leaders from Nong Khon Kaen church, Kusman Church, Kusakoi Church and the Christian Mission. There was activity from 10 am – 8 pm Wednesday, 6:30 am- 8 pm Thursday and 6:30 am to 3 pm on Friday. We like to say, never a dull moment. We had children attending from three villages around us here (Christian Mission), from Na Lao – a beginning church about 2 hours away from here; from Kusman and Kusakoi.
Both Surachai and Pon, our assistant pastor team were involved and were an asset to the program. Surichai took care of the sermons and Pon did storytelling. We are looking forward to much, much more from them
Another blessing out of the program is that Dtaa, a Bible Student from Nong Khon Kaen who is supported by the Christian Mission, will be spending two weeks with us during her term break. She was also a major leader in the Bible Camp. She will be assisting in visitation and helping Bee get caught up on her variety of activities.
As you look at the pictures, please enjoy and pray for the kids you see. For many of them, this was the first time in a church and we are praying that many of them might return.
Dtaa is the young lady that Christian Mission is supporting in bible School. She will be entering her second year the end of May. Her home church is Nong Khon Kaen. She will be coming here from May 4-20 to help us out and learn a bit of reality before going back to school.
The 4 ladies with Maeo are 4 Sunday School teachers from three churches in Laos. One of the churches is in the town directly across the river from us. The other two are located out in the country. We are praying this initial contact will be fruitful. We were able to provide them with quite a bit of “stuff” that they took back with them and are looking forward to future visits.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Thank you and God Bless, John, Maeo, Bee, Lita and Beem 2.
