You may remember that in mid-2012, our folk in Myanmar experienced very heavy rains, and Pastor J’s Bible College and the buildings housing his family and co-workers and orphans were badly damaged by the resulting flooding. See “Flooding – The Word Mission” . When I visited his “enclave” in October 2012 they were still struggling to live in badly damaged buildings and facilities (drinking water was a particular problem) but they had begun building the first of their new buildings.(see picture below) Funds are of course the major factor in their rebuilding program.
October 2012
Pastor J has sent the following report on their present situation and their plans and aspirations for the future of their ministry. Please pray with them and for them that the Lord may make it possible for them to improve their living conditions and have continuing opportunity to reach out to their people, both in the area around where they live and further afield in their country. For those who may be interested in assisting them financially, I have relevant details of their budgets.

“The Word Mission (Projects for 2013-2014)
We definitely need your prayers and support to make and bear much fruit and reach the last of the lost souls in Myanmar. With your partnership 2013 will be the greatest year yet. I am counting on God the Father to work through you. My prayer today is you will join with us in standing for God’s ministries and unreached people right now. God needs your help for us in 2013. This is a 2013 of harvest for The Word Mission. The Lord Jesus told us to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers. We have them; in fact The Word Mission has 9 projects going on.
1. Church planting Training Center
Trainer: 25 peoples
Project period: June 1, 2013-March 30, 2014.
The purpose of training is “equip native of God’s people” (young men and women) for ministry, to reach the last of the lost souls of Myanmar.
2. The Orphanage Ministries project
14 orphans in Shan State
13 orphans in Rakhine State
14 orphans in Yangon
Project period: January 1, 2013-January 1, 2014.
We are working on some very low cost homes for orphans. Several different tribal groups and all kids at TWC children’s home are impacted. A gift of $20 will provide one child with a gift, a meal, clothes, a special presentation of Jesus and the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Your generous gift will help and hope to the last of the lost of children of Myanmar.
3. Building and rebuilding project
In 2012 the floods and heavy rain destroyed our building.
Project period: January 1, 2013-May 30, 2013.
The building will use for Orphans children home, Bible school (for boys’ and girls’ hostel), class rooms, worship place, and a home for my family. Even though our enemy beat us, destroyed us and persecuted us over many years, this facility in the land will be a lasting witness of God’s love and His salvation to the last of the lost of unreached people and a center of training, ministry and outreach to them and that will truly be life changing. It is not just building or rebuilding, it is the house of God.
We need two building for His ministries. The buildings will be two storeys and will use for…
- My family
- Chapel
- Kitchen (need two kitchen rooms)
- Classrooms
- Dining Hall
- Bathroom (need three bath rooms)
- Toilet( need three toilets)
- Bed rooms for students
The building size: long 50ft, wide 18ft, and high 30ft. We want to rebuild by stone with wood
4. Church planting project
Church planter: full time worker: 8 peoples
Part- time workers: 5 peoples
Project period: January 1, 2013-January 1, 2014.
5. Literature Ministries Project
Booklets: 300000 volumes; Gospel tract: 300000; Project period: January 1, 2013-January 1, 2015.
The purpose is to reach unbelievers with gospel tracts, where we cannot personally enter to share the salvation of Jesus Christ. And to translate good books and booklets into Burmese, Chin, Lahu and Shan. By this project we win many lost souls for the Lord over many years.
6. Summer vacation ministries project
Project period: March 1, 2013-May 30, 2014.
During summer vacation, we do evangelism and outreach. We hold seminars, a Bible Ministries camp for a week, and teaching, preaching and sharing the gospel of Jesus to the most lost people groups in different place and in different tribal peoples. During school breaks and summer holidays, we teach students of government schools accordingly their classes. We provide pens, pencils, books, and meals during this program. We also teach English to young people. Summer vacations, some students of the TWC (The Word College – Bible College) hold teaching ministries with government school children. This program opens the way for TWC to share the gospel of Jesus to non-Christians. The Word Mission realizes that a great responsibility has been laid upon their shoulders by God for those kinds of children who have no ability to flee from their backgrounds. To educate them from the very foundation which is necessary for poor families, is the main purpose for teaching English to them? Now The Word Mission is still searching out the homeless, hopeless, and helpless and without Christ, so that the Gospel of Christ may lodge in their heart.
7. Solar project
To provide equipment to supply solar power for our own buildings and those in villages we visit with the Gospel.
Project period: January 1, 2013-December 30, 2014.
8. Water project
Budget: 800$ (only for Yangon)
Project period: January 1, 2013-May 30, 2013.
We need for clean water in TWM/TWC center in Yangon.
As the water well in TWC is pumped out of muddy land, it may cause a great damage for people in long run. Moreover this well is also being used more than 150 unreached people around us during summer season. This project therefore is being kept in the most priority to be considered especially to protect from the destruction by flood during every rain season.

9. The land project
Project period: January 1, 2013-December 30, 2014.
For Christ’ sake we get persecution in 2008. That time we do nothave our own land for ministry, and we rent the land for ministry and do His work. Later, authorities ask us to move from where we rent the land. Any time, authorities come and tell us that we cannot stay here because the land was not ours, and make trouble to us. Then we move another place for Christ’ sake.
But we pray to the Lord. And the Lord open the way for us.
One of owner of the land agreed with us to pay a price for his land within four years. I make agreement with him to pay the price for the land within four years. Two years ago, we can pay the fund for two pieces land. Still we need to pay the fund for two pieces of land. This land is ground for spiritual warfare for us. Please be part of this miracle today. I am excited about what God is already doing as we continue to work to complete the purchase of this wonderful land. I cannot waiting to see what God the Father is going to do next and great thing.
I ask you to join us in a prayer of blessing on every loving heart who will respond to help meet this need. We have made payment for two pieces of land so far, all praise and glory to God – but we must make the final payment within 2013-2014. Will you be part of this great miracle with your generous gift to make The Word Mission center a reality? This land is not just land, it is God’s land.
Your support continues to make it possible for us to reach the unreached, tell the untold and love the unloved and we are so grateful.
Ready for Christ
J. ”
