The Evangelical Fellowship of Thailand has officially recognized our new group, Christ for all People Church Association. All documentation has been approved and the required documents are in our possession here at the Christian Mission. Praise God.!!
Rev Pastor Jarat has been working with a group of people about 50-60 miles from his church, up in the mountains. We (Maeo and I) have visited the place two or three times also. They are a minority people group here in Northeast Thailand. They are 70 or so miles from the Christian Mission. The first 50 miles of road are pretty good; the second 10 miles of so start to have pot-holes; the second 8-9 miles almost appears sometimes to have more potholes than road. The last 1-2 miles is red clay. I am already starting to think about how we will get back in there during the rainy season. Red Clay and water make for good ice skating.
The church group consists of people from 3-4 surrounding villages who have come together to worship God. The leader is a retired village head man – 20 plus years. All together there are around 45-50 people, of which 10-15 are young people. Their church services are held on Saturday with Bible study, and all on the same day. Again we see God’s hand at work. The folks here are part of a people group called the Bru. Our church in Nong Khon Kaen is of the same people group.
We had a great time celebrating Christmas together December 15. The paperwork is being organized for formally apply to EFT for this group to join our organization. God willing, it will be completed by the end of January.
Prayer for this group
- Pray that the pig donations will provide them with a viable form of income. They have no real farm land. In the past they raised their rice on government land, but this has been taken back to build a dam and reservoir.
- Pray that they will grow in strength, wisdom and numbers to witness for Christ throughout that area.
- Pray for the young people that they will find Christ and find meaning for their lives. There are some really neat, Unspoiled kids here.
Thanks and God Bless. John
