Greetings from all of us here at the Christian Mission. God continues to bless and we go forward ever so slowly.
Mon-Fri 6 am – prayer group meets, If you have prayer requests, send them in. Sat-Sun 7 am – prayer group meets to pray specifically for Saturday and Sunday needs. Currently we have an average of 8 people attending each day. Thanks and praise God.
On July 25, 2012 the leaders of our 5 churches met to discuss establishing an NGO specifically for our group. All leaders were in agreement that this was the only way to go. We have worked together informally now for 8 years and have come to know, trust and understand each other. Process, procedures and paperwork were all discussed. Each church will prepare its own paperwork and bring it to prayer meeting on Aug 6. Officers and a board were elected and they will consolidate everything and send it to Bangkok. Initial information tells us that there will be no problems; however, there are problems within the Evangelical Fellowship of Thailand right now so we don’t know where things stand. It appears like there is a very un-Christian –like power struggle going on. We ask for your prayers that this will not create problems for us. Several missionaries, from what I understand, have had to leave Thailand because the Ministry of Religion will not approve visas until this trouble is settled.
The July youth meeting was held at the Christian Mission this month on July 28 and was a great success. Our youth conducted the entire program, including the message.
We have three English Camps in August – which will affect about 240 elementary students. Altogether our English camps over the last 3 years have served about 5,000 students. Several schools are actually using the concept of “Older teaching Younger” and find that the younger children are learning English faster from the older students than they do from their Classroom English teachers. Thank God for that.
Enjoy the pictures of our workers here. Our teen team now has 6 members; Bee is the oldest and the leader, Nun is second, and then Bpun followed by Ploy, Lita and Beem 2. This group conducts about half of the English Camps on Saturday; they manage all of the Saturday youth programs here at the church – including Bible study, singing, dancing, English, clean up and cooking. They make up the worship team that manages the Sunday program, including Bible study, worship team and so on. All I do is preach now.
They organize and set up a VBS Program in October and April, and now they will be attending leadership seminars in October and April also. Our other churches also participate in these training programs and are starting to do the same thing at their home churches.
Thank you and May God Bless. Praise God for all of your prayers and support.
