John’s Blog | Sunday

April 11, 2011 Filed Under: John's Newsletter, Newsletters, Newsletters | Thailand

Greetings from Thailand with a beautiful sunshine day. It is Monday morning and all is well with us here at the Christian Mission. The children have all gone home for the week so we have real peace and quiet for the first time in a long time again. Now is the time to catch up on other work. Plans are underway for the Easter Program on April 24. Please pray for that. It is one of our bigger outreach programs of the year.

You see a picture of all our girls hard at work before going home – needed to get all of their class work done before going home. It did not happen, but they came close and I am happy. We have picked up four more girls – not live-in yet, but to help with English – going into 7th grade, and possibly another two very ambitious 6th graders. Please pray for them.

All the rest of the pictures are from church on Sunday. You will see Wah, one of our interns already at work. We are meeting today (April 11) to plan the next 10 months for her and Mr. Sririchai – the other intern. You see his picture preaching Sunday. This is the first time that I have not been in our pulpit on a regular Sunday since we started several years ago. Plans are for Mr. Sririchai and Wah to preach one Sunday each month, so my load will be reduced here. Praise God for that.

Then other pictures are of various parts of the church service on Sunday. Our teen choir is increasing and we will be looking forward to doing some 2 part harmony in the near future. Pray that we will find a real teacher for our singing group – either that, or gift one of our current folks, to teach.

Short, happy and with much to praise God for this week.  Thailand celebrates its third New Year of the year this week and it runs from today, April 11 to probably about April 17. Much partying and drinking and very dangerous. Our plans are to remain very close to home.  Thanks and God Bless for all of your prayers and support.

John and Maeo

Below are  the latest photos and brings you up to date as of today,as far as I know. Thank all of you for all of your prayers on our behalf and the support you so graciously provide for us.

God Bless and Keep,

John, Maeo and the Christian Mission.

In the pictures this time you will see:

Dao doing a Bible story – only the second time for him and a major accomplishment overcoming his bashfulness.

Nun singing a solo – this is the third time for her – and she is the only teen presently who has accepted Christ and been baptized – all the others have now left. Pray for God’s protection for her. She has a lot of potential to be an outstanding servant of God.

Picture of our girls studying. Yes they use all the materials on the table in front of them and that isn’t all. We also use TV , Computer, digital camera, projector and anthing else I can get my hands on to make their learning process easier.

The person preaching this morning is Mr. Sririchai. He, his wife and little boy are new additions to our team. He is an intern and his wife has recently accepted Christ but not yet been baptized. please pray for her.

Then there is a picture showing you my view from the front of the church and then our teen singers.

The final pictures are of Wah – our second intern leading the singing in the worship service. She will also be preaching once a month. Pray or both of these interns and pray for wisdom for me to lead them as they spend 10 months here with us.
