Greetings from Thailand and Praise God we serve a risen savior.
Easter Sunday went well with 61 people in attendance for the 3 hour service, after which we all had dinner. We were blessed to see new faces both in our older group and in the young children’s group. We also had three teens return that we have not seen for a couple of years. Please pray that they will come again. The names are PooBae, Bpun and Dangmoe.
We had a full range of programs including singing by our elementary group – almost all new within the past 3 months. Then there was singing by our high school group – now includes about 12 students. The high school girls with the light blue shirts are actually 6th graders, whose maturity and willingness to learn has gotten them in with my new 7th grade English class, so they are in Bible study and singing. In addition they are going to summer school – with me – for about 8 hours a day.
Our service had three preachers participating this Sunday – a first for the Christian Mission. Sririchai, one of our new interns started about by recounting Thursday even and the happenings then, then John talked about what happened on Friday and the crucifixion; our teens did a Story and play of the resurrection, and then Wah, our other intern talked about the happenings after Christ’s resurrection. The service was followed with a delicious Thai meal, using ducks, fish and chickens from our zoo that we have here.
Bee was the song leader for our festivities; Maeo did the opening prayer, Nun did the story of the resurrection, assisted by other teens.
I would also like to introduce all of you to our newest church attendee. His name is Ferd and he is a little over one year old. He is Sririchai’s son.
WE continue our prayer group Mon-Friday at 7 am. If there are items of prayer you wish us to pray for, please send them; as we ask you to pay for us, our children, the Christian Mission and all of its activities. God continues to bless but we need prayer support from all of you. It is felt and seen in the work being done here.
Thanks and God Bless, John, Maeo and the Christian Mission
