On Sunday, February 20, 2011 we held the second combined church service for our group. Five churches participated and God blessed the service and those who attended. There were well over 100 people attending the service. The first combined service was held in December 2010 at the Christian Mission and we in the group have decided to do it every other month from now on. Because our churches are so small and so far apart, it is sometimes hard to realize that there are other Christians around that have the same problems. The leaders of the five churches meet monthly for prayer, fellowship and to worship God; the youth meet every two months for the same purpose, and we now find that with the memberships uniting in a combined service, God does work wonders and blesses all of us. The service was held at the New Tribes Church in Kuseman – about a 45 minute drive from here. Our second van was used to provide transportation for our small church way out in the rice fields. Another church traveled about an hour to get there. Two hours were spent in praise and worship and listening to the Word of God. A great meal was enjoyed by all.
Mr. Jarat, the senior pastor in the New Tribes Group opened the service; a church elder welcomed us and summarized my sermon before I even presented it. Senior food packets were presented to two elderly women; youth from all the churches had a chance to sing and it was a day truly blessed by God.
Pray for us that this will continue and all will be blessed by it. Pray for funds to assist the churches further away to get to services like this.
