It is going to take me a couple of newsletters to catch up. But Happy New Year and may God Bless in the coming year.
Our third Christmas was December 30, 2010 and we traveled about an hour and an half to get there. We left Nakhon Phanom about 4 pm and arrived there about 5.30. Praise the Lord for the larger van. We had 15 young people and Maeo and I. The church is one of the New Tribes churches that cooperate with us. Two hundred adults registered for the gift drawing. That means that there were over 400 people that attended because the kids outnumbered the adults.
There was singing, dancing, praise and a short sermon by a fire breathing Thai preacher. It fact, his name is Pastor Han and he was the first pastor I worked with from our current location. There were games, lots of food and a gift handouts and a fun time had by all. More of a New Year’s Party than Christmas but it got several hundred people out to hear the Good News of Christ presented with no room for excuses. A very clear choice of either or. Pray that those that heard – especially our children who went – understand the message and will want to be with Christ. Only three of the 15 children who went have accepted Christ. We arrived safely back home and delivered all the kids safely home by 11.00 pm.
Let me get this off to you now and then work on New Year’s Eve. God truly blessed us beyond our belief again.
We again thank you and praise God for our church in Maine that has done so much to help this Christmas. Up to date, because of their support we have served about 200 children so far.
Happy New Year and God bless, John, Maeo and the Christian Mission.
