It is Sunday evening, December 26, 2010. As I sit here working on this note, I am trying to think of how to describe how God has blessed us here at the Christian Mission. Expectations this morning were that there would be about 50-60 people here for our morning service today. By the time I finished counting there were almost 100. Expectations were that most of the folks that came would be children. We ended up with almost 40 adults. Yesterday we didn’t know what we would use for baby Jesus; this morning we had a baby, about two weeks old, born in a bus on the way back home. The baby was visiting her grandmother and grand father and great grandfather right across the street from the church.
The complete program this morning – except for a 20 minute talk by me – was planned, organized and directed by our teens. It was very, very interesting to see a Thai interpretation of the birth of Jesus. The pictures attached do not do justice to what happened. My prayer is that we can put a video together to show.
Our church in Maine is again to be thanked and pray that God will bless them for providing gifts for another 35-40 children – we had expected about 21, but God new better and provided for more.
Our dinner, at first, was planned for about 70 people, based on those who had signed up; however God took care of that also and we fed 100 and still had food left over.
My greatest blessing, however, was taking the kids out to eat again this evening. All you can eat and they amaze me every time. Now, I ask for prayers for them as they prepare for mid-term exams next week. The dates have been changed three times so far, and they have not had a full 5 day week of school since the term started in mid-October.
We ask for your prayers as we prepare to begin the New Year; that we will follow God’s will and keep him first in or lives so that we can be his light in this part of the world. Again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year; may God continue to bless.
