Dear Friends and supporters.
Christmas, December 25 is on the way out for us here; however we still have Christmas December 26; Christmas December 30 and maybe another one, not sure yet.
Our children spent from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm today practicing for our Christmas for friends here at the Christian Mission tomorrow. We will start at about 9 am and go until everyone has had dinner and gone home.
At a little after 3 pm – after the little ones were taken home – our resident teens loaded up the van with Christmas presents, soup of love and other goodies and left to go to Pomphan’s (the little fat guy in the blue shirt – slum village. It is a group of about 20 shacks located in an old cemetery used by the hospital many years ago. Mr Pomphan is a local radio celebrity and news and TV commentator. We have worked together for several years now. He is sure that I am crazy – first because I turned away from the Buddhist faith many years ago, and second because everything I do I don’t expect anything in return and I would really appreciate it if he didn’t use my name in any of the work we do.
Thanks to a church in Maine, this is the first part of our Christmas program and I wanted to get it off to all of you. The second part will be our Christmas program tomorrow and our presentation of gifts to those kids who are here, and that will be another story. My prayer is that you all will be blessed as much as we are because we can do what God wants us to do only with your payers and your support. God Bless and a Blessed Merry Christmas. Thank you. John, Maeo and the Christian Mission folks
Summary: 23 children from 1 month to 12 years old received gifts
2 senior citizens received food packets
Approximately 60 people ate about 6 gallons of “soup of love”. Pray that it sticks 🙂
