Are you looking for some paid OE and the opportunity to serve the Lord in Missions at the same time?

What about Thailand?

As I have often mentioned in my newsletters, John Middlewood, who with his wife Maeo ministers in the northeast of Thailand at the AC “Christian Mission Naratchakwai”, is heavily involved with teaching English in many elementary and secondary schools in the area around the city of Nakhon Phanom (NKP). His efforts to help raise the standard of English in the schools of the area have brought him into a close relationship with Education Department officials and principals and teachers of the province, and he is highly respected by those in educational circles.

John has recently sent the following advertisement seeking teachers.

These positions would be ideal for Christian teachers, who would be willing to assist John and Maeo with the ministries at the Christian Mission Naratchakwai during weekends and holiday times.

Advertisement for Teachers

Wanted: A few good people with a love for children and with teaching creativity and who have a great imagination.

Positions are available for high school English, Math and Science teachers for grades 7-9. Teachers need to have a degree in their teaching field, and a teaching credential from their home country or state. They should be from Canada, England, New Zealand, Australia or the US.

Teachers will be working in Northeast Thailand – the poorest part of Thailand and the province of Nakhon Phanom – the poorest province in Northeast Thailand. Positions will be in village and small town high schools which either have or want to start an English medium or Mini English program.

Determination and creativity will be a must; ability to rough it and enjoy adventure and challenge will also help.

Salary: Depends upon qualifications but minimally it should include:

  • Payment of visa fees and work permit fees if selected and hired.
  • Salary of approximately 30,000 baht per month (US$1000.00/ NZ$1,300 approx.) (Regular teacher salaries begin at about 8,000 baht per month.)
  • Living accommodation will be provided or an allowance paid.

Opportunities to help children abound, and those accepted will be challenged daily to be creative in their approach to teaching the children.

For anyone who is interested, please contact Dr. John Middlewood email: jmidds@tmail.com as soon as possible.

Schools need to make their decisions during the month of February 2011 and classes will start in April/May 2011.

If you are interested in seeking more information about these positions, please contact John directly as above, or through me (ernie.schache@acmissionz.org,nz) . If you have friends or family members who you think may be interested in these positions, please be sure to pass on this information to them.

God bless you and thank you once again for your prayerful support of AC Mission ministries in Asia.
