Thailand Update September 20th 2010

September 23, 2010 Filed Under: John's Newsletter, Newsletters, Newsletters | Thailand

Greetings in the name of Christ.

Thanks and praise God for answered prayer concerning the Disney Videos. To date we have received over 60 videos, and among all of them there are only 4 duplicates. God does work miracles, doesn’t he? I also understand that there are still more videos on the way. If we receive duplicates, we will be looking for schools really interested in their English Program and will donate them to the schools to use and return; then pass them around to other schools. Thanks and God Bless all who have helped.

Pray for our 7 “daughters” please. Semester exams are next week and much is riding on the outcome of the exams. Our four that have not accepted Christ are more worried than necessary. In fact, they are all quite bright when compares with their peers.

Last Saturday was English Camp and Choak Amnuay Elementary School. In spite of many distractions our teens did a great job and provided a witness of God’s love reaching out to help the younger children.

After talking to the other churches in our group, we have decided that once every two months our congregations will gather together for church and dinner. Christian Mission at Ban Naratchakwai will be the first on November 8, 2010. This will be an extension of the leaders’ prayer group meeting every month, and an extension of the youth meetings every two months. It will provide an opportunity for all the small churches to meet, pray, worship and have fun together. Please pray that it will glorify God and raise Him up.

We are currently getting involved with another Christian group working in the country of Laos. Jeff Hudgens’ father died in an aircraft accident during the 60’s and a village in Laos found the remains and was responsible for getting the remains back to the US. For the last 5 or 6 years he has come back every year. This year there is a school across the river from us that has asked for assistance from The Thai, Lao, Cambodia Brotherhood, the group I represent here in Thailand. Jeff has said he is willing to investigate and give a report back to me. Please pray that God will give Jeff the discernment and wisdom to check things out and get a plan back to me that God will approve, or word that the project is not worthwhile. The project will be managed by the local university Agriculture College; it will also provide an opportunity to witness God’s love to the folks across the river as well as here in Nakhon Phanom.

Please continue to pray for us here and for the children.  God Bless, John and Maeo.
