Greetings to all from a wet Thailand. J. We continue to get more than our share of rain, but not as bad as some other places so we praise God for that.
August 12, 14, and 15 were very busy days for us. As two of the senior members of the village, and the fact that Maeo and I have done a lot for the local school, we were invited to attend the school celebration of Mother’s day, held at the local Buddhist Temple. Along with us we took our great-nephew PooPup. He had a ball. Friday during the day as a quiet day for us here – all the girls went home for Mother’s day and returned Friday evening. Saturday, as you can see by the photos, it was a busy day of practice for our Sunday Mother’s Day celebration. We had over 70 people in attendance and some 30-40 mothers and grandmothers that were honored and then we all ate. For me, that was the best part.
God continues to bless us here and we covet your prayers.
August 18 I head to the local hospital to pick up my three-month supply of medicines from this end; I am praying that there are no surprises.
August 21 will be another English camp at a school about 50 miles from here; please pray for that activity.
August 22 Maeo and I head to Bangkok to pick up free English books for our church library. That trip will be over 1000 miles and on Thai roads, it is a lifetime, it seems.
August 28 will be youth day here, with about 100 youth from 6-8 different churches meeting to celebrate and praise God.
August 29 Maeo and I head to Khon Kaen for our round of medical checkups and monthly medicine supply from there.
God bless and keep all of you until the next time we meet. John, Maeo and the Christian Mission
