INDIA: ACGC Executive Director Rev Ron Thomas and his wife Jan visit Guindy from 2 to 9 July, to fellowship with Immanuel and Rani and Mission staff and to visit and have discussions with the Mission’s partners in ministry, including the AC Conference and the Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches. Please pray for health and safety and positive, helpful meetings.
INDIA: Praise the Lord that the agreement between the Mission and the AC Conference was signed, in Colombo Sri Lanka, on 26 June. Pray that the next step, which is the sale of the jointly owned land at Guindy, will proceed quickly and smoothly this month. There are several important reasons that it be completed as soon as possible, preferably in the first half of this month (July).
Please pray especially for Immanuel, our lawyer Ravi Paul, and the President and Immediate Past President of the AC Conference as they seek to choose the right buyer for the property.
INDIA: The Advent Christian Conference of India holds its General Body (Annual) meeting late this month at which new Executive Committee members will be elected. Pray that the meeting’s choices for these positions will be the Lord’s choices. Pray especially for President Rev M Barnabas as he leads the meeting. Pray also for his health – he is undergoing extended treatment for blocked arteries
INDIA: The Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches also holds its General Body (Annual) meeting late this month, at which new officers and Business Committee members are to be elected. There is a “rebel” faction causing great concern and seeking election, whilst those loyal to the Lord’s work are also putting forward candidates for the positions of President, Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President. Please pray for wisdom for pastors and members as they vote and as they fellowship and discuss the future ministry of the Fellowship and its churches.
MYANMAR: Pray especially for the four organisations which make up the Advent Christian Conference of Myanmar and their leaders. Between them they are caring for more than a hundred orphaned children in their homes and homes of some members. The beginning of the school year brings substantial expense and pressures.
The supply of water continues to be a problem for our people in Myanmar and indeed for most of the residents of that country and we are doing our best to help them. Give thanks that the Central Region group of WH&FMS ladies has adopted this project for the next 3 years as their Mission Project. We have already been able to get one bore-well drilled and operating (see left). PTL!
THAILAND: Praise the Lord for positive results from health check-ups for John and Maeo Middlewood. Pray for wisdom and patience for them as they act as foster parents to the seven girls they have taken into their home for a
year as they attend an English program at college. Pray also for the girls – that the Lord will draw them to commit their lives to Him.
Please pray with John and Maeo as they are trying to find a Thai Christian couple who will come to Naratchakwai to join them in ministry. As well as easing the heavy workload that they have, especially John’s teaching of English in schools and classes at home, this would help to reduce the attitude that some Thai folk take that Christianity is “John’s country’s religion” or “a religion for foreigners”.
MALAYSIA: Pray especially for Ruth Devairakkam and Wilfred in Kluang – they are having difficulties with the AC Conference’s bank account and other “official” pressures to the sustaining of their ministry.
Please be in prayer for me as I organise a meeting in Naratchakwai, Thailand in early November at which the four leaders from Myanmar, Immanuel from India, John and Maeo gather for fellowship and discussion about future ministry. Revs Ron Thomas and Tim Fox (World Outreach Director) will attend this meeting. I am looking for great outcomes from this meeting.
Thank you once again for your faithful prayer for and partnership in the ministries in South Asia. God bless!
