Prayer Points

January-February 2010

India

  • Please continue to pray for Pastors and Bible Women who serve the Lord in sincerity and truth, often under very stressful circumstances. Pray especially for some who seem to have moved away from what they know to be God's ways and precepts.

  • Give thanks to the Lord for the opportunity to bring a little extra at Christmas time for the children in the two AC Conference hostels at Guindy and Velachery. Praise the Lord for those who gave financially to make this possible.

  • Please continue to pray for the Mission team at Guindy, led by Immanuel - Joseph, Raja, Deveraj, and Daniel. Pray also for their families.

  • Please continue to pray for negotiations in respect to the leasing of the Guindy property, which will bring much needed financial support for the AC Conference of India, and good income for the Mission also.

  • The AC Conference and the Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches are beginning the planning and preparation of material for May's Vacation Bible School activities. Pray for the members of the committee working on this project - for wisdom and unanimity as they carry out this very important task.

  • Pray that the Lord will give the leadership teams of both Conferences great wisdom as they struggle with their financial situations. Ask the Lord to give them the ability to trust HIM for all their needs. Pray that Pastors may have boldness as they teach their people concerning the blessing of giving back to the Lord part of what He has blessed them with - however small an amount that might be.

Thailand

  • Jan 10: Pray for Ernie Schache as he travels to Thailand 10th to 21st January to meet up with the husband of a young couple from the US who are seeking the Lord's will in regard to serving in Thailand. Pray that the Lord's will may be very clear to them after this "spy out the land" visit.

  • Continue to pray for Pastor John Middlewood and his wife Maeo, in Naratchakwai in northeast Thailand. They minister in more than 35 schools, using the teaching of English as a medium. Pray for the group of Christian high school students from their church who assist them. Pray especially that these young people may be able to resist the pressures of the world and stand firm in their faith.

Myanmar

  • Some of our Myanmar ministries have felt the wrath of the government authorities over recent weeks - some have been forced to stop certain activities. They tell us "we are never give up our faith and working hard under-ground for our Lords kingdom." Pray with them for safety and the ability to continue their ministries to God's glory. Thank the Lord for these brothers' tremendous commitment.

  • Praise the Lord for a very generous gift from a donor in NZ which enabled the 39 orphans looked after by the pastors of the Myanmar Conference to enjoy special extra blessings at Christmas time.

Malaysia

  • Pray for the leaders of the two AC Conferences - Pastor Victor Devadason and wife Nesamony in Banting in the North and Ruth Devairakkam and husband Wilfred in Kluang in the south. Ministry for the Lord is not easy in this Moslem land.

December 2009

India

  • Pray for the witness that our Advent Christian churches will bring in this Hindu land at Christmas time. Pray that God's love will fill the lives of His people and that that love will overflow to their friends and neighbours.

  • Continue to pray for the leasing of the Mission/ACCI land at Guindy in Chennai. There is a very suitable offer being considered at present. Please pray that the AC Conference leaders will have wisdom as they deliberate and will put aside personal gain as they consider the long term financial situation for their organisation.

  • Please continue to pray for Mission Manager Immanuel as he leads the Mission team at Guindy. Thank the Lord that a measure of peace has broken out amongst the group of dissident pastors within the Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches. Please pray especially for Pastors J Daniel, J Solomon, Manova and Magesh - that the Lord will change their hearts.

  • Pray for the leaders and their leadership teams of the two AC Conferences - Rev Paul Aruldoss of the Advent Christian Conference of India and Rev Prabu Manuel of the Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches. These brothers are under considerable pressures from within their organisations and from without. Pray for wisdom and integrity and that they may trust the Lord rather than men.

Thailand

  • Pray for arrangements to be completed for the young couple from the United States to visit Naratchakwai in January, to "spy out the land" before making a final decision as to whether to commit to long term service for the Lord with John Middlewood at CMN (Christian Mission Naratchakwai). Pray for wisdom for them as they wait on the Lord's leading.

Myanmar

  • Pray for Pastor D who has recently been elected President of the Myanmar Conference. Pray that he may have wisdom and integrity as he leads this group in a country where the costs of being a Christian are often very great. Pray for the other leaders and ministries of the Conference. Pray especially for physical safety for leaders and all believers. Thank the Lord that many are accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour in spite of the difficulties such commitments may bring.

Malaysia

  • Continue to pray for the leaders of the two struggling Advent Christian ministries - Rev Victor Devadason at Banting/Sepang and Sis Ruth Devairakkam at Kluang. Pray also for ex pastor James Devadasson at Kluang as he struggles with his situation and health problems.

November 2009

India

  • Pray for the Yesuway Jeevan Mission (AAM) staff at Guindy, led by Mission Manager Immanuel. Pray especially for Driver Raja who is experiencing severe knee pain as result of an old injury from many years ago. He has also been diagnosed as a diabetic and treatment for this is not as readily available and as comprehensive as it is here in NZ.

  • Continue to pray for the successful leasing of the Mission and AC Conference land at Guindy. There are some new possibilities for this being discussed at present. Completion of these leases will bring much needed finance for the Conference and extra income for the Mission to be used in helping the underprivileged.

  • Pray for financial discipline within the leadership of the AC Conference of India. Their present financial situation, caused to some extent by the worldwide credit crisis, is causing great pressures on their ministries and pastors. In particular, their two hostels which care for more than 300 children, are not receiving sufficient funds to look after the children properly.

Thailand

  • Praise the Lord for 10 adult teachers from an organisation in the United States known as World Teach, who have arrived to spend a year teaching English at schools in the area around the Christian Mission Naratchakwai's compound. This programme has been arranged by our AC missionary there - John Middlewood. Pray for John as he has many extra responsibilities looking after these visitors.

  • Pray for arrangements being made for a young married couple from the United States to come in 2010 and serve as career missionaries with John and Maeo Middlewood at the Christian Mission Naratchakwai. Pray concerning visas, and suitable accommodation and for their ability to learn the Thai language. They have already begun learning the language.

Myanmar

  • Praise the Lord that Pastor X reports that he has moved to a new area and is continuing his ministry and has re-opened his Bible College after considerable persecution from the authorities in recent months. Thank the Lord for His answers to our prayers about this situation over recent months.

  • Pray for the leaders and workers and members of the four groups which make up the ACCM. Their ministries continue in spite of great persecution from the authorities and they regularly report that many are coming to know the Lord as Saviour. Pray especially for Pastor D who has just been elected to the position of President of the conference.

Malaysia

  • Pray for the leaders of the two AC ministries in Malaysia - Ruth Devairakkam and her husband Wilfred at Kluang and for Pastor Victor and his wife Nesamony and mother Beulah in Banting, near Kuala Lumpur. Both of these ministries are struggling and facing significant challenges.
