Youth Day
January 16, 2010
On January 16 Christian Mission joined with 5 other churches for our every other month meeting. This month we met in Sakon Nakhon which is about an hour and 15 minutes from our church; add in time to pick up all the kids and it is about two hours. This month we had two vehicles - 23 people that attended. The pictures will tell the story. We got back and delivered everyone by 4:30 pm and a great day was had by all.

(left) of Dtua. This is the teen we were getting ready to hold a funeral for a few months ago. He is up, walking with a cane, beginning to talk and was even trying to sing at the meeting this Saturday. Please continue to pray for his healing and for a resolution to the problems his family is having at the present time.
Special note: Ernie from New Zealand and Rob from the US have left and are in the process of returning to their homes; please pray for them and their safe return home; and pray that the meetings here will bear fruit according to God's plan.
Thank you for your prayers and God Bless.

Soup of Love
January 15, 2010
Soup of Love is up and running again for the New Year, but with a new direction for the New Year. For several years we concentrated on our own village, then last year we went to all 11 villages once. Since our focus here at the Christian Mission is mainly on children, the members decided to shift to schools for this year because the response was not there. In our sub-district we have 5 elementary schools and several pre-school nurseries. We will be visiting one of the 5 schools and its related pre-school each month and distribute soup and tracts for the children to take home and see how this works.

Pictures here are from the first school, Ban Naratchakwai Noi Elementary School. They have about 100 children. The Christian Mission team, Ernie from New Zealand and Rob from the United States visited the school on January 15, and the pictures above are the results. First you will see the soup preparation in our kitchen; Ernie and the principal carrying the soup into the school; children eating; their thank you was sent to all of you, and the final is cleanup - Children do all the cleanup at this school. Pray that the children that received materials to take home will do so and share it with their parents. We are now working under the promise that, the children will lead them....
We will continue to assist seniors as we are able and ask for your prayers that we will begin to see a harvest from this program also.
Pray also for our teens - we have another one who has accepted Christ but whose parents will not let her be baptized. She is a 10th grader and has returned after being gone for 3 or so years.
Thanks and God Bless,
John and Maeo
Children's Day 2010
January 10, 2010
January 9, 2010 is celebrated as Children's Day - it is the second Saturday of the new year. The schools celebrate on January 8. We visited 5 schools on Friday handing out goodies. All of the government agencies celebrate on Saturday and it is kind of like Christmas - Santa Clause style, Western New Years, Chinese New Years and Thai New Years all rolled up into a birthday too, maybe even a little Halloween. The idea is to travel from place to place on Saturday as you can and gather as much as you can. It also involves a variety of performance activities by the children; games and things like that. We also celebrated here at the Christian Mission, but on a much smaller scale. Many of the children here went to town after leaving here at noon to see what they could find there.

As you will see from the pictures, we started pretty much a regular Saturday morning for the kids. Then first hour - no pictures - kids practiced their singing for tomorrow; second hour we split in half Teens practiced their special music and elementary had Bible class; second half of that hour, teens had their Bible Class and elementary practiced their singing. Third hour was a series of games, gift exchanges and special gifts handed out. Then it was lunch time - sorry again, I was too busy eating too and forgot to take pictures, and everyone was home by about 12:30 pm. My afternoon was spent getting ready for tomorrow, Sunday and my evening was spent putting this together so I could get it out to you tonight.
Below are a few pictures at the Christian Mission on December 27.

We had a total of 142 people attending the program of which, maybe 20 were professing Christians. Please pray for the other 120 that they will return for more. Originally we had planned on Christmas presents for 40 children. We ended up presenting gifts to 16 children from a local slum village, 22 of our own children, 2 children receiving medical assistance from TLCB and the Christian Mission and an additional 30 children from our village, for a total of 70 children who received Christmas presents this year. Praise God and thank Him for those of you who heard His call to help us this year. Another small step in the battle to win the hearts and souls of our neighbors for Christ.
God Bless,
John and Maeo
Christian Mission Annual Plan & Budget
January 5, 2010
Greetings for he New Year from the Christian Mission.
Click here for a copy of our 2010 plan and budget.
We ask for your prayers that God will call people to help as he did in 2009 and that our needs for this year will be met. Our mission admits that this is beyond our human capability, so we ask for your prayers that through the strength of God his mission here will succeed.
Also ask for prayers for Ernie from New Zealand and Rob Musick from the US who will be joining us here for a couple of weeks to discuss the plans for the Christian Mission for the next few years.
God Bless,
John and Maeo
