Overview

Advent Christian Conference of India

  • 83 churches and preaching stations in Tamil Nadu State – in and around Chennai
  • Approximately 17,000 members in those churches
  • 6 Primary Schools, 7 Middle Schools and 3 High Schools, affiliated to the Indian education system, providing free education for children from poorer homes in and around Chennai
  • Hostel for orphans/underprivileged children at Guindy – 110 children
  • 3 small outreach stations in Andhra Pradesh State (South India), 1 in Orissa
  • 16 churches and preaching stations in Khagaria District, Bihar State (North India)
  • A total of 130 Pastors and Bible Women serving in South India, and 13 Pastors and 24 school teachers serving in Bihar
  • The outreach in Bihar is based on the link to the community provided by the St Xavier’s school (Nursery to 10th Standard) purchased by the Conference some years ago – the present student numbers are in excess of 700

Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches

  • 22 churches/preaching stations in Tamil Nadu State – in and around Chennai and in the southern part of the State
  • Approximately 2,000 members in those churches
  • 22 Pastors and 1 Bible Woman serving in Tamil Nadu

AC World Outreach

Through its recently established organisation in India – Yesuway Jeevan Mission (Jesus is the Way Mission) – ACWO also partners with the following ministries in India:

  • ADDRES Center (Alcohol; Drug; De-addiction; Rehabilitation; Educational; Service Center)
    • Caring for and supporting contacts among street injecting drug users and alcoholics and those infected with HIV/AIDS in Chennai. Have started a new ministry – Stepping Stone Innovative – to provide training to enable/assist rehabilitated folk to get job skills so that they can obtain employment and earn their living.
  • Christ Special High School for the Handicapped
    • A fully residential school for 65 children with disabilities at Sankarapuram, Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu.
  • Abishekh Sewing School
    • A ministry teaching ladies from the Gypsy community at Kallakuruchi, Tamil Nadu sewing skills and jewellery making skills, to enable them to earn a living – either by working for others or by setting up small, home-based businesses.
  • FPTL (Faith Prayer Tract Link) New Life Home
    • A Christian hostel for 32 orphans and underprivileged children at Namakkal, Kolli Hills, Tamil Nadu.
  • Peace Children Care Home
    • Ministering through a 6 days a week Day Session  assisting children from fishing villages on the east coast near Chennai with homework and Christian input. Are seeking to raise funds to build a new hostel to accommodate affected, abandoned children who have lost their father or mother, or both, to HIV/AIDS.
  • Shelter Trust
    • A Christian hostel/home at Thanikachalam Nagar, Chennai for 20 children and 10 adults who are HIV/AIDS infected.
  • Emmanuel’s School & Children’s Home
    • A school and hostel in the city of Chandel in Manipur State in North India which caters for approximately 450 children from underprivileged Christian families from Kindergarten to 10th standard.
